Also I've put up a test page in the wiki under community, "Revise toolbar icons and text", using a flash output from the program Wink. It's extremely easy to use, and free. Please comment. Personally I like being able to click through tutorials such as this, as fast as I can read, rather than have them timed, or having audio.

wow Keith, that is great - very clear and straight-forward

Re: New web site, new community, new name

Hi guys,

Keith wrote: How about you post a page in the wiki with this information, as a work in progress?  Maybe call it a our roadmap for covering a lot of the documentation bases.

I sent the following msg to Tom yesterday, but I think  I should  put it on the forum, too. Yes, I definitely felt the need for some kind of a road map. Keith, did you refer to my post (about the roadmap)?

Here's the msg:

I’ve become really involved with IQ, even if due to my tight schedule my contribution to the project might be limited.

As I mentioned in my post ( in "New web site, new community, new name"), I was thinking of giving some structure to the overall effort of all the guys willing to help IQ achieve excellence. This is my suggestion:
At the present degree of complication and  development we could try “the top down” approach. We could work out an outline for organizing all the info. I have already posted my humble attempt at that. We could do the following:
1.      First, start a lists for 1st level – main categories/topics. Once we decide there is no reason to put more items into it, we should choose which ones we should keep. I think that it might be better not to put it on a forum because the discussion could take too long, but I don’t really have a strong opinion about that.
2.      Then we could proceed to the next level, and repeating the same steps, work out the outline.
3.      We could do the same with the fields.
4.      Or we could use my outline as a “work in progress” and update it as the need arises.
5.      Once we have the outline, we will have a better map of the whole and the plan for our work (we could work by "filling in the gaps" -- in the glossary, instructions, etc -- in a structured way). This would improve the overall understanding and eliminate the chaos and unnecessary repetitive work. It would be also an excellent preliminary work for a future IQ guide/help.
6.      You can see that I had also included things related to marketing and such (the business side of IQ, more or less), but I’m not entirely sure it this is the right way to go. I’m just really interested in promoting IQ (I feel I could contribute in that area a little bit),and think that our common effort could bring fruit.

Let me know what you think.

  4. Other.
    1. Donations
    2. Marketing
    3. Community
    4. Fun

In each Category I have following fields:

1.      Questions.

2.      Problems

3.      Bugs

4.      Instructions: steps, techniques.

5.      Descriptions (more general than “Instructions” for marketing/intro)

  • Can the wki show an outline list as you have it ?
I'm presuming if you click on Features it will expand to show the subitems (on the left side of page), but also show a summary of the Features in the main part of page (I'm not familiar with Wiki or HTML for that matter so dont know what's possible
  • How would we proceed in terms of the info that's there already? Incorporate it somehow - what do you think Pierre?

I think once it's sorted how to incorporate the info that's there already it would be great if this or similar outline could be applied to the wiki

The wiki could certainly do with some structure - it has very little at the moment

Hi Tom,

I was basically testing the water. I wanted to know if anybody would be interested in the project, and possibly  find help/team for it, but of course I can procede on my own.

I'd be also very intrested what Pierre thinks about it?

Anyway, if the project has any legs I'm willing to contribute, as much as my abilities and time allow.

ALSO: I decided to repost my msgs in Suggestions under the thread name "Road Map". I think that the current thread name is  confusing.

Take care.

That registration link is for InfoCube, while this is InfoQube, with a Q (unless I missed something...)

And why not call your company Microsopht or Mikrosoft, while you're at it?  You may want to talk to a TM attorney before finalizing your branding.
