Version 0.9.18 is finally out. Most notable improvements are:
A: Ecco Pro file import
A: File>New and File>Save As commands finally added
A: Added option to use tab/shift-tab to indent/outdent to simulate Ecco. Tools>Options>Modes
A: Drag-drop URLs onto the grid (from IE or FF browser address bar)
A: HTML Editor: Auto-save on/off. More prompts when saving/erasing text in editor.
A: Improved support for UI languages. Now includes Romanian (special thanks to muntealb)
A: Scratchpad grid added. Behaves as in Ecco (double-click folders and items to show content)
A: Scrolling down past the last TLI will add items (hold CTRL key to activate, INS adds a new TLI whereever you are in the grid)
A: Show/hide Grid Source bar
The Ecco import took 4 hours to get a prototype working but 5 times more to get it finished! File>Import>Ecco. Simple 4 step process. As a bonus, you can import it by blocks of items and you can continue using SQLNotes as it chucks away at importing (speed is OK and mostly limited by Ecco DDE API).
It may not be completely bug-free, but version 0.9.18 (out this week for sure) will have the Ecco importer:
- Creates all fields (warns if an existing field is in conflict)
- Creates all items
- Fills-in all item field values
- Creates all item-subs relationships
Rich text, notepads, filters, forms, etc are not imported. SQLNotes also has a few field name restrictions ( . and ' are not allowed and removed when imported)
The code uses plain-vanilla Ecco (no Ecco-Ext).
