Version 0.9.23.7 is now available in the download area. Major changes are:
- Show hyperlinks of lineage items on the status bar
- Show siblings in the properties pane
- Filter as you type
- Portable!
The biggest news is that it can now run without installation and does not require admin rights. It works on XP and Vista systems (does not work on Win 2000). Users can report if it works on Mac (Parallels) and Linux (Wine).
Simply copy the content of the zip file to a folder (local or portable) and open SQLNotes.exe to launch the program.
- The program settings are stored in the AppData sub-folder
- The user settings are stored in Users\UserName
Multiple users can use the portable version and have separate settings. A new command line switch is available to force the use of a given user (by default SQLNotes uses the Win logon, which for portable apps can be a problem). Format:
/user:YourUserName
A .bat file is included to automatically launch SQLNotes for a given user. Edit this file to set it to your desired user name.
(All modifications are stamped with the username, so it is convenient to be able to set this)
