Version 0.9.23.6 is now out. From the number change, it may seem like a very minor one, but don't let that fool you. Major new features (details here):
- New VBScript editor
- VBScript code separated in system, user and database
- Improved web clipping. Perfect web page capture in both HTML and MHT formats!
- Time-stamped backups
- Move settings and VBScript code from Program Files to app_data folder
- Links to folders
- Bug fixes of course
The other announced feature is being tested and is working extremely well.
- Portability! You'll be able to download a zip file, copy the content to an USB thumb drive or portable HD, copy your datafiles and GO! Any Win XP or Vista PC, no installation required, no admin rights. Finally, you'll finally be able to bring SQLNotes to work with you, show it to your boss and the IT won't be able to stop you
...
As a few forms were incompatible with this new mode, these are being redesigned. Expect this new feature in the next release.
A word of caution about this release. Significant parts of the code were rewritten in anticipation for new features (portability, calendar, off-line, etc) and significant new features were added. As a consequence, new bugs are likely to appear and stability will be reduced. I would recommend to either backup often (or enable the new time-stamped backup feature) or use on non mission-critical data. A stabilisation release will follow once bugs are discovered and fixed.
Remember that if you're experiencing problems with this new version and decide to switch back to the previous version, that settings and VBScript code are now stored in different folders and they will not be used by the previous version.
