Importing from desktop or WEB

Dear Pierre

As Evernote user and heavy notetaker and gatherer, I am very pleased to see that I am able to import clippings (word for instance) or web clippings into SQLNotes.

But it is not a straightforward process. I am used in other systems to copy and drag and drop into the HTML editor, and hopefully I will get my word selection (or whole document) or a WEB selection (or the whole page) pasted into the HTML.

To do this in SQLNotes is a bit tricky and, and, most important, this is a problem for me, there is no link to the original document (or web page) kept anywhere. (so I am unable to find back from where I got the info...this is vital for us gatherers!!!)

Do you plan to make this easier for us and keep the original links? (I am very new to your system and perhaps a bit spoiled by the ease of use of Evernote 2).

Thanks

Tom

Re: Importing from desktop or WEB

Hi Tom,

You are quite correct that it is currently not as easy to use SQLNotes as a gathering tool as EN or other similar app. Things that need improvements are namely:

  1. Tray app loaded at startup
  2. Browser extensions (right-click > clip to SN)
  3. Source storage (will come free with item 2 above)

These are normally planned after the next big ones: disconnected mode and Calendar

What is "disconnected mode"?

Ability to make changes to a local file and sync with another one. When syncing with a web accessible database, can permit collaborative work. EN can do some of this.

Re: Importing from desktop or WEB

That's one of the (few) strengths of the Evernote 3.0 beta... EverNote 2.2.1 has some of those features as well...
