Exporting and right to left support

Hi,

I have been looking at IQ lately and I like it, especially with the firefox extension. What I am missing is better exporting facilities for writers. Exporting outlines that is, and selected items on an outline. What I found now is that one cannot just select some items (control click) and export them into one file. I also found that when an entire outline is exported, each right pain item gets it's own box and you can't highlight everything to copy it into a wordprocessor.  I am also wondering if you have support for right to left languages in mind for the editor, I do not think it is a big deal, as it handles it fine if right to left text was imported from a webpage. It is not convenient to have to open Word every time to edit. Another issue is that the title of the webclipper does not seem to support unicode import. It needs to be edited after clipping.

Great program,
Terje Tonsberg

Hi Terje,

  1. Exporting: Have you tried selecting items (all, drag or CTRL-Click) and doing an html export. You have many options and the result can be either go to the clipboard (paste into Word) or in an HTML file (edit in Word or other)
  2. The HTML pane uses a file (NewHTML.htm) as a default template (you can also use any other htm as a template). Simply ensure that the template has the following: <HTML DIR="RTL"> at the start. I'll eventually add a menu entry to ease this setting.
  3. Web clipper: Good point, I did not test for this. Will do!

Re: Exporting and right to left support

Hi,

1. I tried, but the HTML file produced does not allow highlighting all, at least not what comes from manually entered text items. See attached for what happens when I press CTRL+A. It does not highlight the text box. Maybe you could do something to allow highlighting all, or better yet, export a text or rtf file the way Keynotes (the outliner) does.

2. What is needed, or what I need at least, is a button to switch in the editor to allow for both right to left and left to right in a single item. I expect most rtl users have this need.

Thanks,

Terje
